About Michele A. Shermak, MD

Introduction
Dr. Michele Shermak focuses on helping her patients achieve their best version of themselves. Dr. Shermak trained at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and remained on faculty at Johns Hopkins for 11 years until transitioning to private practice in 2010.

Whether her patients desire liposuction, tummy tuck, body-lifts, breast or facial rejuvenation, Dr. Shermak listens to her patients carefully to assure their goals are met. Dr. Shermak has a very active practice in breast reconstruction and complex revision surgery as well. Dr. Shermak’s goals for her patients stem from her patients, and their happiness is her happiness. Dr. Shermak’s motto is: “This is your life... Make it beautiful!” She seeks to achieve beauty for her patients physically, mentally and spiritually, on all levels. “Can I give you a hug?” is one of the favorite quotes she hears from her patients, and she hears it often.

Professional Background

A native of Baltimore, Dr. Shermak graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude from Franklin and Marshall College. She earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and was the first to finish a combined residency program in general and plastic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

After completing her plastic surgery training, Dr. Shermak went on to pursue further specialized training in aesthetic, breast, and body contouring surgery in Nashville with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell and Dr. Jack Fisher. There she learned the latest techniques in body sculpting, including liposuction and body lifts; breast surgery, including primary and complex cosmetic and reconstructive procedures; and facial rejuvenation surgery, including laser resurfacing, facial peels, endoscopic surgery, and facelifts.
