    People love to hate aesthetic plastic surgery. Print media, social media, television, and radio all tell stories of overdone or botched plastic surgery. 

    Even the Vatican is dishing on the subject. From February 4 - 7, the Pontifical Council for Culture assembled to discuss "Women's Cultures: Equality and Difference." Cosmetic surgery, they pontificated, "can be aggressive toward the feminine beauty." They further asserted, "Plastic surgery is like a burqa made of flesh."

  • Average Cost of Plastic Surgery Procedures: The Numbers Game

    The American plastic surgery industry is a multi-million dollar business, but how much do individual procedures cost patients? Even though this is one of the first questions people ask themselves when considering cosmetic surgery, it can be hard to answer with so many contradictory “facts.” While, in fairness, prices can vary by geographical location and plastic surgeon among other factors, I thought I would round up the national averages for the top five surgical and nonsurgical procedures in 2014, as reported by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. 

  • How Much Cosmetic Surgery is Too Much?

    Before Michael Jackson’s passing, there was a rumor floating around that he had undergone excessive plastic surgery on his nose and as a result, had to wear a prosthetic one - as there simply wasn't enough skin left to sustain functionality. Regardless of whether or not it was true, if you compared photos of him from the 70s through the late 90s, it was quite clear that he had completely changed the look of his nose repeatedly… which begs the question – Why wasn’t he ever fully satisfied with the results?
