I'm an ironworker and would love to get breast implants, but I don't know if that would be safe for the line of work I do. I'm afraid that they would get popped or something.. any suggestions.. thank you

Absolutely you can have implants. The recovery period will be critical to allow everything to heal so that you can do all the work that you are accustomed to without putting yourself in harm's way. Discuss this part specifically with your surgeon. There is nothing about your work that would put the implants in danger. Best of Luck!

So sorry to hear about this. Without seeing pre/post op pics I can't really give you any explanation as to why this happened. Clearly though, this is not the norm. My suggestion would be to obtain your records and get a 2nd opinion. Sounds like you've been very patient. I know the personal relationship is an issue, but you need to know that things were either done right and didn't turn out well, or something else. Best of Luck!

Thanks for your question. As you can imagine, breast reductions vary according to the amount removed. For someone that is petite like you, having a reduction in volume and a re-suspension of the breast can make a big difference. In one patient I might remove 1000gm/side while in another I might remove only 200gm/side. Each patient however gets the same amount of symptom release. Thanks for your question. Women with breasts that are disproportionately large for their frame and have symptoms like neck and shoulder pain are great candidates for breast reduction. It is probably best done after you are having children if you've already had two, but technically doesn't interfere with future pregnancies. Insurance companies have become very unwilling to pay for reductions unfortunately, and they are decided on a case by case basis. As long as you are not obese and your surgeon can remove a fair amount of breast tissue, you are likely a candidate. For the surgeon, the estimation of the amount that can safely be removed is based on how much must be left behind to provide blood supply to the nipple areolar complex.
