About the Practice
Dr. Hall describes his practice style in this way; "I treat my patients like I would treat members of my own family."
Dr. Hall’s interest in plastic surgery began while still in high school. He was influenced by a family friend, a Plastic Surgeon, who pointed out that this was a field that combined both art and science in the care of people. Dr. Hall explains in this way; "I had always loved science and art, having been heavily exposed to these areas by my parents and from that moment on I knew what I wanted to do."
Background & Certification
Dr. Hall holds numerous certifications. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and also by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Hall began his plastic surgical practice in Boston, MA after completing eleven years of post graduate training, graduating in the top third of his class from Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. He received his MD in 1983. Dr. Hall undertook his residency training in General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He received special training in Craniomaxillofacial and Pediatric plastic surgery at the International Craniofacial Institute in Dallas, Texas. As a Plastic Surgery resident at the University of Michigan, Dr. Hall was honored by receiving the award for the Best Resident presentation at the annual meeting of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Hall is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has been elected to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery because of his special expertise and focus in the area of aesthetic surgery. He has also been the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Winchester Hospital for many years.
Publications and Presentations
Dr. Hall has been published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Annals of Plastic Surgery, the British Journal of Plastic Surgery, the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, and Breast Disease.
He has given multiple scientific presentations, including those at the University of Michigan, the Midwestern Plastic Surgery society, The Michigan Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Cleft palate-Craniofacial Association
Awards & Honors
Dr. Jonathan D. Hall has again been named to Boston Magazine's Annual Top Doctors list. In the December 2013 "THE TOP DOCS (AND TOP SOX) ISSUE!" special issue. In the annual guide to "Boston's best physicians" he was chosen as one of the Top Boston-Area Specialists. He is one of just 13 plastic surgeons in Boston out of a total of 650 specialists nominated by other physicians for this honor. He was also selected in the 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 Boston Magazine "Top Doc" lists.
