Medical School:
University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and he received Alpha Omega Alpha honors.

Plastic surgery training:
University of Texas Medical Branch, Saint Joseph Medical Center, and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, as well Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

Professional Background
Dr. Carlos Mata trained in Miami, Florida and focused on aesthetic surgery with the world’s leading experts in blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), rhytidectomy (facelift) and breast surgery (augmentations, reductions and lifts). He also trained on the art of injectables (BOTOX, dermal fillers, and more).
Dr. Carlos Mata also trained in several Children’s Hospitals, such as Children’s Hospital Boston, MA, Dell Children Medical Center in Austin, TX, and Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX.
He became a Major in the United States Army practicing at Eglin Air Force Base as the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His special training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX taught him the skills necessary to treat America’s wounded warriors and their families.
