Fleur de lis

I am 4 weeks post op from a Fleur de lis and things are well just concerned swelling right under the bikini line and the top of my vagina. There is a small knot under my scar line. Is this normal?

Swelling is normal but you should confirm if your swelling is with your surgeon. The knots in the scar are normal and likely mild fat necrosis where the tissue has lost its blood supply, presumably from the suture and turned into a lump. The lump will get smaller as you continue to heal. Best to get confirmation with your surgeon regarding the concerns you have but what you describe would be considered 'normal'.

Thank you for your question and doing your homework with ASAPS member surgeons. You are still early in the recovery process and had an extensive procedure. It is quite normal to have some residual swelling in different areas that will gradually go away with time. Early on, you may feel some knots, lumps, bulges along the scar line as the scar tissue re-organizes and the absorbable sutures are metabolized. It is important to have regular follow up appointments with your surgeon and follow the postoperative recovery pathway to optimize your results. Best wishes on a great result and speedy recovery.
