What can I do to recover from this deep plane face lift?

Two months ago today I had a deep plane face lift and lower blepharoplasty. It has been an awful recovery. I have had no energy and my face looks too full and it is still very uncomfortable , tight, sore. My temples, cheeks and jawline look bigger than before. I have literally been on the couch for 2 months and I am normally a very active person. My surgeon is not a very communicative person . PLEASE HELP . I have tried lymphatic massage. No relief. Any suggestions will be so appreciated. I am 57 years old.

Thank you for submitting your question - recovery rates differ for each person and combination of procedures. Be sure to follow your surgeon's post operative instructions and realize that time and patience can be very valuable during the recovery process. Some additional measures may include keeping your head elevated, sleeping propped up on pillows, and using ice and anti-inflammatory medications to help alleviate the swelling. As your recovery progresses, consider doing more massage and lymphatic drainage. Best wishes on your recovery and achieving a great result.

So I place all of my patients on Arnica and Bromelain. You can use prescription strength anti-inflammatories. I still would use ice, compression and massage. I have a therapist I use specifically.
