What is ASERF?
ASERF President and ASAPS member, Julio Garcia, MD explains what the research arm of The Aesthetic Society is and what they do to help both patients and surgeons. ASERF (The Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation) is the educational and research foundation arm of The Aesthetic Society. Its mission is to identify and pursue those issues relevant to the advancement, effectiveness and safety of aesthetic surgery through directed research and education for the purpose of benefiting patients, physicians and the entire field of medicine. This foundation is supported exclusively by private donations and research revenues and is dedicated to funding research in the field of aesthetic surgery and educating members of the society and public. Dr. Garcia shares that the complex studies in aesthetic surgery funded by ASERF, help not only surgeons, but patients as well through this research to establish safe practices and reliable outcomes.
