Botox Softened My Facial Lines and Wrinkles
Maryann received Botox injections from a board-certified plastic surgeon to reduce her facial lines and wrinkles. Although, she didn’t think they were deep, she wanted to smooth out some of the wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin (Type A) is a cosmetic injection that blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This effect relaxes and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements on the face—most commonly, between the brows, crows-feet around the eyes, and horizontal forehead creases.
“I was a little apprehensive at first, thinking I was going to get sick from the Botox because of all the stories I’d read in magazines,” explained Maryann. “My doctor reassured me that Botox is meant for specific areas, it takes 4-7 days for it to take effect, and I shouldn’t bend till then, so I trusted him.”
The lines that develop between your brows can make you look tired, unhappy or angry. Maryann received injections between her brows and one on each of the corners of her eyes.
“I went back to work that afternoon and I didn’t get any reactions from the injections. I still have a few lines but they are softer!” exclaimed Maryann.
