Dr. Robert Houser’s sincere warmth combined with his years of experience and formidable education will easily carry you along the emotional and physical journey surgery can sometimes be. While it’s true that doctors tend to breed more doctors, few tend to stay within the same specialty as their parents. This was not the case for Dr. Houser: “I saw the joy that this work brought to my father and knew that was exactly what I wanted for my life, too.” As a native of Central Ohio, Dr. Houser made seamless transitions from undergrad at The Ohio State University, to medical school at Ohio University, and then back to OSU where he served as Chief Resident in his final year of their plastic surgery program. In 2003, his own chapter in the family’s history began when his cosmetic and plastic surgery practice opened. Since then, he’s won over 17 awards for exceptional service and results.
No one should ever obtain cosmetic or plastic surgery from a non-certified surgeon, which is why Dr. Houser has always been Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Houser is proud to be a Member of The Aesthetic Society—only about one-third of ABPS Board Certified plastic surgeons are elected to this prestigious organization.
Dr. Houser is known for treating every patient like family. “I’d never recommend a procedure if I wouldn’t perform it on one of my loved ones,” he says. Whether it’s rebuilding a woman’s body after pregnancy, restoring a man’s hairline with amazing robotic technology, or helping someone recognize their youthful face in the mirror again, Dr. Houser loves being part of people’s lives when they regain freedom and confidence through these trusted procedures. “Most of all, I love working with people who are willing to work as hard as I am to reach their goals.”

After more than 3 years of sharing a plastic surgery practice with his father, Dr. Houser became a solo practitioner in August, 2006 upon his father's retirement. Dr. Houser has been practicing Plastic Surgery since 2003 and completed 6 years of residency education following medical school. The final 2 years of his training were dedicated solely to Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Houser continues to be active in resident education both at The Ohio State University in the plastic surgery program as well as in the general surgery program at Mount Carmel Medical Center.

For 40 years, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) has been the gold standard in outpatient facility safety. AAAASF approval is no easy feat! Several staff dedicate time all year long to ensure our ability to pass AAAASF’s stringent standards. While it may take many resources to obtain the accreditation we’ve held since 1985, the trade-off is our patients’ trust. AAAASF accreditation gives our patients the following assurances:
Our staff has had excellent, up-to-date training in all relevant emergency procedures
Dr. Houser holds privileges to perform surgery at a number of local hospitals, if needed
Dr. Houser remains board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
The facility is clean and equipped with all relevant emergency equipment
As a Class C facility, we are qualified to perform all types of anesthesia
Dr. Houser and our nurse are both certified to inspect other facilities
