I believe the skin on my areola is dying after a breast lift, will new skin grow underneath the black scab?

It depends how far you are from your surgery. If it is a few days, it could be dried blood. If you are a week or more, it could be loss of the areolar skin. Your surgeon will assist you in determining this. Depending on the tent the loss, it usually will heal over time. There might be some distortion that can be improved with a minor scar revision at a later date. It is extremely rare to suffer complete areaolar lossfollowing a mastopexy!

First and foremost, make sure you are having surgery by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon, in a safe facility with safe anesthesia. Tha is a good amount. Surgery! Recovery is relative term and individualized. These procedures are not terribly painful! You should be up walking the evening of surgery and driving in 2-3 weeks. Full activity should resume in 4-6 weeks.

You don’t want to proceed with a breast reduction until growth has ceased, you don’t want to do it twice! Usually by 19/20 growth has stopped and it is reasonable to proceed. If her weight stays stable and no growth has been detected for a minimum of 6 months, you can consider proceeding. Visit a board certified plastic surgeon, well versed in breast reduction to learn all about the surgery and to monitor her breast status.

Jemial there are many techniques that are suited to an individual’s severity of gynecomastia. The fees vary with each method. Insurance companies often cover this surgery, if certain criteria are met. Visit a board certified plastic surgeon, well versed, in this surgery to learn more about it.
