About Laurence Kirwan, MD, FACS
Introduction
Dr. Kirwan’s superior level of knowledge, care and understanding over many years has made him a renowned and sought-after plastic surgeon in Connecticut. He has successfully performed over 10,000 surgeries for both women and men including plastic surgery of face, body, and breast.
He has featured in over a 100 magazines and newspaper articles around the world and has published several books. In 2022, Dr. Kirwan published a Guide for Surgical Assistants. Dr. Kirwan has treated many celebrities in his career and was named as Ulrika Jonsson’s breast reduction surgeon in the Hello Magazine Cover Feature. Kirwan is, however, well known for his discretion in treating many people in the public eye who prefer to avoid publicity.

Laurence Kirwan was born in Liverpool, England. He graduated in Medicine from Manchester University, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1979. Kirwan spent over six years training in General Surgery in England, Australia and the United States. He completed a Fellowship and was appointed as a Clinical Instructor in Hand Surgery at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Kirwan completed his Residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Dr. Kirwan is a past trainer and speaker for Restylane, Perlane, Dysport, Thermage and Sculptra and has given over 10 courses at the Annual Scientific Meetings of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He has also been an invited expert panelist at many International Plastic Surgery meetings as well as an invited Professor and Guest Lecturer at the Siluetti Aesthetic Hospital in Helsinki, Finland. Dr. Kirwan was a Clinical Instructor for the Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary from 1996 until 2016. He is currently a Preceptor for the Surgical Physician Assistant Program at Norwalk Hospital, sponsored by the Yale New Haven Health System.

How Dr. Kirwan goes beyond
KIRWAN PLASTIC SURGERY is a personalized Plastic Surgery Practice providing a concierge level of care. The practice is situated in a new, state-of-the-art facility on the ground floor of a purpose-built medical building. The facility is accredited by the American Association of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) for conscious sedation. Dr. Kirwan performs many procedures, including facelift surgery, liposuction, and BodyTite in his Office-Based Surgical Facility with the assistance of his full-time Board-Certified Anesthesiologist. Dr. Kirwan personally administers all of his patients’ Filler and Botox injections. He injects Fillers with blunt cannulas exclusively, for safety and to reduce trauma Dr. Kirwan sees all of his patients for their follow-up visits. To maintain an excellent level of care, Dr. Kirwan calls his patients at home on the day of surgery, to ensure that they are progressing satisfactorily after their procedure. Patients who call our office are answered by a friendly informed member of staff, not an automated call option system. Our patients belong to the KIRWAN PLASTIC SURGERY 'family' and are treated with the same care and respect as a family member.
