Education & Training
Dr. Gutowski is fellowship trained and board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He completed his college education at the University of Michigan where he did research in biochemistry and surgery. Next, he received his Medical Degree at Michigan State University and trained in General Surgery at the University of Minnesota where he dedicated two years to plastic surgery research. Later, his Plastic Surgery training was fulfilled at the University of Texas Southwestern, one of the most prestigious plastic surgery programs in the nation. His fellowship was then completed at the renowned Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University.

I am a diabetic for 42 years on insulin and I am also a kidney transplant patient. I weight 150 and my height is 5' 3". My transplant is 15 yrs old. Is it safe for me to have a tummy tuck or liposuction?

Depending on any scars you have on your abdomen, and the quality of the skin and amount of fat, both options are possible but an in-person evaluation is better to answer your question.

Hi, I am an international student at London, may I have a lip enhancement surgery here or internationals are not allowed? Where do the surgeries take part: in the UK or in the USA? I am not from a EU country. May I have it or I am not allowed as I don't have a citizenship here?

You may have any medical treatments in the USA regardless of your citizenship status. Lip enhancement may include injectable fillers, special implants, or surgery. See a Board Certified plastic surgeon for more information.

I need a revision nose surgery, I also need either a face lift or chemical peel and I have breast implants that are over twenty years old; they need to be replaced and I need a lift. Can this all be done at the same time???

Depending on the length of surgery, it may be done at once. However, combined procedures longer than 5-6 hours may be better split into shorter surgeries. If the revision nose surgery is an hour, combined with a 30 min chemical peel and 1 hr implant exchange + small lift around the nipple, then that may be reasonable.
However, a complex 3 hr nose revision with a 3 hour face lift and 3 hour implant exchange and lift would be longer then most surgeons would consider safe.

I'm 8 days post op Tummy Tuck, lipo and muscle repair. I am extremely swollen (bigger than I was before) and I have a long indentation on my right waist. Is this normal? The doctor said it will go away within a few weeks. I don't think it looks like any of the post op pic's I've seen of others with…

Before being concerned about a revision, find out what is going on. Some swelling is normal after a tummy tuck. If you have more then expected, and your surgeon has evaluated you, then restate your concerns or consider a second opinion.
