About the Practice

Practice Philosophy

Since I first started practice many years ago, my philosophy has always been to provide each patient with the finest personalized care, while creating beautiful, natural results that turn dreams into reality. I grew up in a family of surgeons. My parents are both surgeons. My sister is a surgeon. My aunts, uncles and cousins are surgeons. I learned early on in my medical career that practicing medicine is a privilege that is not to be taken lightly. It is my duty as a physician and surgeon to provide the best and most up-to-date medical care possible when treating my patients, to the best of my ability. I swore an oath to do this the day I graduated from medical school and I continue to honor that oath today. I understand how difficult it can be choosing a surgeon to trust with your medical care. That is why I treat every single one of my patients as if they were a member of my own family, with the honesty, care and compassion that they deserve.

Unlike some surgeons who are only trained in one particular procedure and apply it to everyone, I am a fully trained and qualified plastic surgeon with a variety of procedures that you can choose from. Together, after a full discussion of each option, we will pick the option that best fulfills your expectations.

Background & Certification

Board Certification

I am Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have been since 1999. Board Certification means the physician has graduated from an accredited medical school, completed at least five years of additional Plastic Surgery residency training, practiced plastic surgery for two years and then passed a series of comprehensive written and oral examinations.

Professional Background

I graduated with my degree in medicine from the University of Western Ontario in my home country of Canada. After completing residency training in general surgery and then plastic surgery, I completed two more years of highly-specialized subspecialty fellowship training. I first completed a year of training in microsurgical cancer reconstruction at the internationally renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. I then completed another year of advanced aesthetic surgery and breast surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Florida.

Following my advanced fellowship training, I was hired to the faculty of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. During my three years of practice in San Antonio, I served as the Chief of Breast Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery and was the associate program director for the plastic surgery residency program. There I trained other surgeons in the highly specialized art and skill of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Your Consultation

From the moment they walk in the door, my patients can relax and enjoy the spa-inspired décor of my new office, which features calming colors and soothing waterfalls. The experience of comfort and personalized care is extended into every visit, where the patient’s needs are always at the forefront of care. During my eleven years of practice, my approach has always been to sit down with each patient and first make them feel comfortable. You are never going to feel rushed. My typical consultation can take between 45 minutes and one hour. I talk to the each patient about all treatment options in detail to their satisfaction. I will review multiple before and after photos to help visualize the anticipated results. We will then come up with a decision together to pick the safest, most reliable procedure to meet your expectations and desires.

Payment Options

Most reconstructive surgery is covered by medical insurance companies, either partially or in full. On the other hand, cosmetic surgery is not covered by any insurance companies. It is your insurance company – not the surgeon – who decides if a procedure is cosmetic or reconstructive in nature, and thus whether or not it is covered. Of course, any decision made by the insurance company can be appealed, but this is not always successful. To help avoid any surprises or disappointment, Dr. Gupta recommends that each patient first review their medical insurance contract or contact their insurance company to determine whether or not a particular procedure is a covered benefit under their plan. Dr. Gupta assists his patients as much as possible in obtaining insurance coverage for their surgical procedure if it is medically indicated.

We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and offer multiple financing and payment plan options from reputable companies such as Care Credit, Surgery Loans and Chase Health. You can finance a portion or 100% of your cosmetic procedure with no upfront cost, no application fees, no annual fees and no pre-payment penalties. Application is a simple online process in the comfort of your own home or you can apply in our office after your initial consultation.
