Can laser hair removal trigger my discoid lupus?

I have discoid lupus that has been in remission for 5 years. I would like to get laser hair removal of the underarms. Can laser hair removal trigger my discoid lupus?

Lupus can have various degrees of manifestation. Whomever you see make sure to take a list of your current medications or tretment intervals. These drugs could have an effect on your laser treatments. Best,

Discoid lupus is a skin condition. There is no evidence that laser hair removal would trigger a relapse in the discoid lupus. I would recommend that you talk with your rheumatologist and plastic surgeon. I also recommend that the plastic surgeon does the laser hair removal for you.
