Thick waist
Photos would be very helpful to see what you are describing as a “Thick Waist.” Often a combination of Liposuction (prone & supine) with an Abdominoplasty can be required to produce the slimmest waist possible in a patient. Here is link of some examples ( http://garyculbertson.com/body-plastic-surgery-before-and-after/ ). Consider a consult with an ASAPS Member in your area to address your concern(s). They are experts in Body Contouring procedures. Best,

That all depends on what you call a "thick waist". You can't have a tummy tuck unless you have loose skin. Tummy tucks (http://discoverthebeauty.com/gallery-body-procedures-tummy-tuck.html) remove excess skin and tighten your muscles under your skin. This is frequently combined with liposuction, which removes excess fat from under your skin. Liposuction, (http://discoverthebeauty.com/liposuction.html) is the most likely procedure to reduce the size of your waistline. You can see some pics of each if you click on the links.
Good luck
Potentially a tummy tuck with or without liposuction will improve the contour of the waist. This is especially true for women after having children.
